Out with the Old...In with the NEW!!

Yes, it is true, I finally got a new car!! Only those of you who know me well can really understand my excitement. Here is a picture of my old car. A '96 (purple) Hyundai Accent. I bought it the year I graduated high school in 2000. That's right, I've been driving this butte around for 8 1/2 years. I always hated the color but for $3500 bucks I figured I could live with it.......I just didn't think it would be so long!

I really shouldn't be so harsh, after all these years it still runs great and gets awesome gas mileage. Besides the usual maintenance on a car I've never had to do a dang thing to it. Although I did have to Dukes & Hazard-it through the passenger side door because the driver side door handles (inside & out) were broken, thanks to my kids. The radio would turn on and off when it wanted to, it has a big crack down the front dash, bad tires, a broken off hubcap, and trying to fit 3 kids in the back...well, it was illegal, really. Kiaya hasn't been in a booster seat since Oakley was born. She had to be squished in between the two other car seats. So as you can tell we were well overdue for a new vehicle. I almost feel like a need a moment of silence to say goodbye....

We've now purchased a 2005 Honda Pilot and I absolutely LOVE IT!!! I've been wanting one for a long time. We can now fit 8 people in our car. 8!! Kiaya has the whole back row to herself. It has leather (with seat warmers) and a dvd player with four head sets that has a better sound system than our house. I took it grocery shopping for the first time yesterday and it was so nice. It's very mother friendly. I love that about it. I highly recommend the Pilot to everyone.

Growing like weeds

Kiaya is loving the 1st grade. She is very good at spelling and of course loves art. 95% of the time she is home she's doing cartwheels and tricks in our front room. She is our social bug. Her friends are her world. If I ever need to know what's going on in the neighborhood, I ask Kiaya.

Whitney is at that fun age where she LOVES dressing up and pretending she's a princess. She is content spending most of her day watching a Barbie or a princess movie over and over and over, changing her dress ups with each new show and rehearsing scenes from the movie. I usually have to bribe her to get out of her princess clothes or pajamas and into normal clothes.

She has such a funny personality. I think she may be our little prankster in the family.

Oakley is our determined child. She's learning pretty quick how to keep up with her sisters. She is a very happy little girl and is such a sweetheart. Oh yeah, and she LOVES her mama! (I think because I'm her food supply).

Did I mention that I she has great hair!

One of my good friends gave me this recipe over a year ago but since I'm a sissy on trying out new recipes it's taken me this long to make it. Boy, was I missing out! So yummy and SO easy! My kids even loved it. Thanks Aly!!

CHICKEN PARMESAN

4 boneless/skinless chicken breasts
1 bottle of your favorite spaghetti sauce
mozzarella cheese slices
Italian bread crumbs
2-3 eggs
spaghetti noodles (I use angel hair)

*Mix eggs. Pound chicken breast until they're 1/2 in. thick. Dip chicken in eggs then roll in bread crumbs. Brown in frying pan (with oil) on each side. Place in baking dish. Pour spaghetti sauce over top and place cheese slices on top of each piece of chicken. Bake 30-35 min at 350 degrees. Serve with noodles. (I tossed my noodles in a bit of olive oil and sprinkled with salt and pepper).

CraZy GirLs

This our kitty Mouse, poor thing. Kiaya and Whitney thought it would be fun to dress him up in old baby doll clothes and take him for a ride in the stroller. It brought back memories of when I was little. The funny thing was is that he was such a good sport. He even hung out for a while in his little bonnet. Too funny.

Oakley, 8 months

Our little Oakley is growing up way too fast! This is one determined child. As of the middle of Decemeber she has been crawling. But that's not all, not even two weeks later she was pulling herself up to furniture and the past couple of days she has now made it up to the 2nd stair!! It's so funny to me because she's so little. She only weighs about 16 lbs. Is this how all 3rd children are? The little stinker. I guess she just wants to keep up with her older sisters.

Christmas '08

We had a great Christmas this year. It's so fun with our kids this age, they get so excited about Santa. When they woke up they noticed that Santa had ate the cookies they had left for them and saw his footprints in the ashes of our fireplace. They loved it!

Between Santa and especially their Grandma's & Grandpa's they got spoiled. Kiaya had even told her cousin she didn't think Santa was coming to her house this year because they had been so bad. LOL!! Good thing he loves them. :)
